Mothers Day
May. 13th, 2012 09:54 amOnce again, I am grateful I had the opportunity to avoid ruining my own and someone else's life in the endeavor known as motherhood. Every time I see a story in the news about someone killing or abusing their offspring, I wish more people had the strength to know their limitations and choose not to reproduce as I did. I wish society stopped lying to people, especially women, that they are unfulfilled as human beings without squirting out offspring they can not or will not care for properly.
I wish that people would see that providing contraception to all who need it is better than more millions of unwanted children being born. I wish they would see that providing abortions is better than wasting tax money on police investigations, trials, and incarcerations of those who abuse and neglect their progeny and those same progeny who grow to adulthood and criminality as a result of such abuse and neglect.
Maybe someday we'll see the idiocy of the pro-natalist, anti-choicer dipshits diminished the way their hateful rhetoric against homosexuals is fading. I will host parties when marriage equality is the law of the land and no women are forced by any constraint to give birth to children they don't want.
