Elderly kitty is sickly.

Sonny is old. He's sixteen. That's geriatric for a cat. I should not be surprised that he has tumors in his abdomen. The vet did a biopsy today. The results should be back sometime next week. Then we'll know what to do for treatment. The vet can't operate because they're so big and into almost every organ.

Damn.

I haven't posted much anywhere because of all the idiotic political horseshit, my sadness at the loss of blackbyrd2 and being generally busy. I read everyone else's posts. Sometimes I comment. I don't care how many DDoS attacks LJ takes, I'm staying. At some point, it becomes too much of a hassle to move, sort of like my condo. Junk in the attic, junk in the office, junk in the bedroom, junk downstairs. Too much junk. None of us are going anywhere.

Oh my. blackbyrd2 was shot and killed a few weeks ago. It happened the Friday before the DDoS attacks began.

It's been three weeks?! The time has been a big blur of non-stop things to do. There have been so many people affected by this. It's my hope that you'll soon be at peace with it.

I feel so bad for you. There's nothing any of us can do or say to make it better either. All we can do is grieve with you, though not to the same extent of course.

Please know that he was well-like and well-respected by so many of us who never had the pleasure to meet him face-to-face. The world is a worse place for his absence. Thank you for sharing the pictures. I wish I'd been able to have a beer with him and converse about all the things that affect the planet without the constraint of threaded discourse. He will be missed by many.

You don't say if he's suffering much. I would say that this is the main point, here. Sadly, you can't really explain to a pet that it's for his own good to go through a lot of stress and additional pain to - maybe - feel better some day...

I will always fondly remember all those sleek black creatures I met that year. Yours and Nea's.
In my mind, all of them and all of you will stay as you were. Beautiful, healthy and very much alive.
And once more, reality can just go hang :-p.

I hear you about all the junk! Same here. Junk all over. Good junk, bad junk - but MY junk, right ;-)?
(Me, I've given up on the idea of starting to dismantle my apartment. Once I'm kicked out, it's all going to have to go in such stress and hurry that not much thinking will be possible at all. Until then I'm prepared to stick head firmly in sand.)

I only found out yesterday about blackbyrd2 and I still can't quite wrap my mind around it.

I have always had this thought that one day, we we have the witherall, Slam and I would do a tour of the US and meet all the people we so loved debating/arguing with.

I was hoping he would be one of them.
