Appropos of nothing
Nov. 13th, 2011 09:37 amAs I stepped outside for the paper this morning, I noticed a bunch of feathers in the entryway. Some neighborhood cat got lucky and ate a bird at my doorstep. Sonny would have loved to catch a bird. He lost his furry mind when he saw them out the window. Once when the windows were open, he lunged at a sparrow in the tree and knocked the screen out. It's a good thing I was here or he might have jumped in pursuit. Crazy cat.
I only got to go to one day of the Faulkner Society Words & Music conference this year. It was interesting. Last night at the cocktail party, all the core members of the Peauxdunque Writers Alliance were there. We had a great time schmoozing with editors and agents. I plan to clear my calendar and go to everything next year.
The class has just gotten better. The second half concentrates on essays. The first essay assignment was easy. I can write essays. They're easy because there is a structure in place. All you have to do is follow it and you're golden.

Date: 2011-11-13 04:03 pm (UTC)I find essays easy to write too. The thought of writing a novel though is something I know I would just not be successful at.
