Yesterday's craptacular rainy weather is nearly gone. It's currently cloudy and windy, but those will be gone by noon. Since we missed Endymion last night, we're going to catch Thoth and the other parades that were rescheduled for today to make up for an appalling lack of plastic beads in our lives.

All the personal work I needed to accomplish is almost done. I can take a day off and have some fun. I'll have my notepad with me so I can continue working on a short story I started last week. The new home office arrangement is pretty sweet. When I get the other wall and a half done, it will be awesome.

Taxes are done. My modest bonus will be in the next paycheck. It's time to get the kitchen remodeling in gear. After that comes painting and then the tile flooring. Downstairs will be done at that point, I hope by the end of 2012 at least. Doing it right is a lot more complicated than most people would think.

Toth rocks...

Have fun, guys!

(Even if I'm hard pressed to feel even the slightest bother about the complete lack of plastic beads in *my* life, but that probably just proves me culturally challenged, or something ;-p).

Are you actually doing tile floors, walls etc. yourself? Doing any of that right is in fact so bloody "complicated", I'd never dare.
I do trust you can do it, of course. And that you have detailed statical data to make sure your "upstairs" can take the additional weight. (Never underestimate tiling!)

Can't wait to see the pics :-D.

I'll do the painting because that's within my skill set, but not the demolition and installation of the kitchen nor the tile flooring. Sometimes the Do It Yourself learning curve is too steep to make the effort worth it. Why learn to install tile when I'll only ever do it the once in my life? Let professionals do it and save me the bandwidth of my time and worry that I'll mess it up. The tile will only be downstairs. I'm thinking about hardwood laminate flooring upstairs. Upstairs will be done 2013 at the earliest.

That sounds like a good plan!. :-)!

Wood laminate will look great - might not be any cat's favourite, though :-P.
