Rat race.

Last night, we watched Danica Patrick drive the IRL race in Texas. I haven't been this excited about racing in a long time. The coverage is so much better than it used to be. There are cameras at every angle you could imagine. The cameras inside the cars give an even greater perspective of what the race is really like. ESPN is now doing what they call side-by-side commercial breaks where they show the commercial and the race together on the screen. That is truly inspired since you don't miss anything that may be happening for another annoying Cialis commercial.

One thing that dismayed me was the awful (c)rap song that someone wrote about Danica. Corpsman was dismayed by the fact that she got as much coverage as the winner. Oh well, when more women are in the sport and aren't such oddities, their coverage will recede to the levels of other non-winning drivers. They had an online poll that showed a majority of race fans think she'll win a race this year. Not bad for a rookie. I hope she keeps driving and wins a race or two. Winning would give her a ego boost that would preclude her deciding that she needs to quit, get married and have some kids. That would pretty much kill her career.

Gotta head to the kitchen now and scrounge together some food for the picnic. Corpsman said he was going with me today. The weather is hot, but it's not going to rain. Sunscreen is mandatory.

Speaking of odd camera angles...

How about inside peep show booths?

Damn, I'm glad to be out of that increasingly fucked up country. The Christian fundies are doing their damndest to ruin it.

I don't get how if the rooms are enclosed, they still constitute "public" spaces. Ye flipping gods, I'm sick of these Puritan fuckweeds trying to drag my country back into the Dark Ages.

That's just their lameass excuse.

They want to appear like they have a non-sinister reason for abruptly attacking disagreeable morality with legislation.

They knew it was happening all along, but they didn't think they could do anything about it until now. What with Bush pushing to renew and make permanent the Anti Patriot Act and sundry other attacks on America, they are simply striking while the iron is hot. And the Bush Regime has got it very hot indeed.

It's probably the easiest way to track the progress of the Patriot Act renewal legislation. (I'd put an end-cynicism tag here, but it comes in so handy that I think I'll keep it active.)

Someone pointed out...

that Bush claimed there were no reports of abuses, but that the ACLU was legally gagged from reporting abuses because of the Anti Patriot Act.

If God doesn't strike that fuckwit down, then He don't exist.

Greatest. Quote. of. the. Day.

"...Council members were shocked last year to learn that some men masturbate while watching X-rated movies in the private booths."

Now what exactly do they think people do in peep show booths, knit?

and remind them chapter and verse from the Bible where it says that lying is a sin.

And then ask them again if they were shocked.

And if you want to know how to reach them...

Someone at the place where I learned about this found all of the councillors' email addresses.

He even sent them a note.

Just reach out and touch them, eh? :-)

They'll wriggle around and self-justify. Not that poking them with a stick won't be fun.

Speaking of poking someone with a stick... [livejournal.com profile] stepfordtwit goes all high-and-mighty about the new .xxx domain... two entries above where she used her new gingerporn icon. Alas, I am banned there. :)

Damn, that's disgusting.

I really, really wish I was allowed back on UF. ;->

I'm just as banned as you at the twit's page, though. Too bad she made it visible at all. Stupidity like that really should stay in the closet.

She claimed there were only two

(*snerk* damn Star Wars references ;))

...that she had outright banned. I figured NOLA was the other. Actually, I figure she's lying and there's a whole list of folks she's banned.

The religious right tell the truth?

Pull the other one. It's got bells on.

Oh - wow.

I actually just wanted to say that even we have heard about your Danica, and she sure is pretty and seems a cool kid.
But this newest incredibility sure impresses me even more. What the hell is going on over there?!? I am quite shocked myself, I must say. Where do these people come from?
