I'm not liking how this is beginning. The PODs was supposed to be delivered today before 3:45 according to the call I got last evening as I killed time in the airport. Corpsman wasn't happy about having no carpet downstairs at all, so I compromised and let him have it in part of the downstairs. I might have to get the tile from somewhere besides Lowes since they don't seem to have what I want in stock. Everything else is good for delivery. We'll see how it all turns out.

ETA: After a phone call to the toll-free number, the PODs driver called me back shortly after six. I told him I had a meeting I needed to leave for at seven. He assured me he'd be done by then. At about 6:30, the truck arrives. The driver had to time backing in to the driveway to avoid all the traffic. He placed it exactly where I asked him and was done by 7:00.

Now comes the fun of loading it. Hubby threw the newspapers I was using for packing into the recycle, and we don't get a daily paper anymore to replace them. I'll call mother-in-law to see if she has a small pile I could grab. It's always something.

I feel your pain, I have an idiot putting up my shed this week.

Al bought our tile from a tile only store, at a much better price than at the box stores.

Good luck, hope things fall into place now.

It's *supposed* to be like this, when you're building, or something :-p.

At least you had a fun weekend!

Hope everything will work out well at the end. I'll be curious to see how you divided the downstairs into carpet/tile sections. As far as I remember, you had tiles in the kitchen only?

If you become desperate for newsprint, they sell it at U-Haul and it's not insanely expensive. (at least you don't get ink on your hands from using old newspapers)

will Lowe's let you order online and pick up at the store? Or is it a "national out of stock" issue and not a local OOS issue?

It's a "we don't keep it here but in some regional center that's far away" issue. I sourced it locally. I'm going to pick it up tonight. No worries.

I got some newspapers from my mother-in-law. She also sent me home with some fresh banana peppers. Yum.
