Improvements continuing at a decent pace.

The living room window is tinted. The drapes and blinds are replaced. I had to fix the rod attachment to the wall on the right side. Vel came over and we moved two of my bookshelves to in front of the living room window. Very little heat is gonna come in that way. We moved the love seat against the wall in the dining room and now there is a nice flow of space between the front door and the fireplace. Great feng shui all around. I've got her steam cleaner which I'm going to finish doing the carpet with tomorrow. I want the place to be decent for class tonight.

Do you have air conditioning at all? Also do you have nice mellow springs or is that a time of storms like the winter? I'm guessing it's not always hot there. Here mid june until August tends to be hot. From feb to june it can be rainy but warm rain with more sun. Nov to feb can be snow. Sept to Nov can have storms. October can be very bad for storms. We might not see the type of storms you do but we get things like peoples sheds flying into anothers yard, sometimes patios collapsing, roofs being ripped off, and power going out. Next year though I think I'm going to get a portable air conditioner... right now it's too late to bother so I'm just putting up with the heat best I can.

Yes, I have air conditioning. Anybody without air conditioning down here is either crazy or dirt-poor. Spring and fall are nice, but they're short. It's hot until the end of October, then November is nice until mid December and it gets coldish. It stays coldish and rainy until the end of February. April and half of May are nice until it gets hot again.

We rarely get gentle rain showers. It's either droughty or stormy.

I'll do you one better. I'm having a little get-together soon. You're invited. I'll let you know when as soon as I check my schedule for the next several weeks. It won't be more than two weeks from now.

To get pictures, I'd have to borrow Pete's digital camera. I've already got his drill and stapler. I don't want to borrow anything else until I return those two items.

WHat does feng shui have to say about blocking sources of natural light? I'd think there were philosophies that would object to such things, heat notwithstanding.

Whatever it has to say about blocking light, blocking an unattractive view (my patio and the a/c unit) and removing temptation for unauthorized entry into that window trumps the light aspect. Besides, I'm a Scorpio. We like things a little darker than usual.
