Hello from the wilds of Northern Louisiana.

We're fine as many of you have noticed from my friend's posts. New Orleans is a mess. We're hoping to get back as soon as possible.

We had no damage to the condo. The worst part was being without electricity and water for all those days. We left to come up here on Wednesday.

Looking at the devastation on the news, I can say I am the luckiest witch on the planet right now.

Now that I know where the library is, I'll update more often. I could not get a line out to do a phone post for anything while I was still at home. All circuits are jammed and we still haven't gotten in touch with Corpsman's family.

Thank everyone for worrying about me so much. I am majorly blessed by mmy friends and my deities.

It seems it will take a long time before people are allowed back in that city. The whole logistics there are in shambles. Do you have what to live on for the time being?

I'm glad to hear your ok. I have another LJ friend in the town you've gone too. They told me that area wasn't really touched.

I was relieved to hear you, your hubby, kitties, and house was fine. Though concerned by what we are hearing up here on conditions down there. I was worried you'd be confronted with looters, snipers, car jackers, or problems due to lack of water/food, and that possibly it might be hard for you to get out as what roads they did show on tv were so packed with people or just destroyed. :(

I have to say this past 9 days I feel everyone here in your loop has done nothing but think about you two. I know I have ever since reading your last post saying you two were hunkering down to ride it out.

I think what was most troubling was getting reports and knowing you weren't, yet stuck right in the middle of it all. I'm so glad you got out. I worried that even if you were fine people would eventually want any food or water you had, or, you would be right in the middle of it all trying to help and getting shot at. It was just a little daunting.

No, this post doesn't mean shit compared what you've been through, and what people are still going through. Don't qualify it with any sort of graciousness. Just know we're all glad you're safe, that you're still kicking ass and taking names.

I'm so glad you didn't have to go to the toilet known as the Superdome, or worse the Convention Center. As I told labrat earlier, let us know if you would like to take a Florida vacation for now. Jason's relatives leave Monday and then there will be an extra bed for you and the sailor. Might as well make good use of your free time right?

So glad you're doing alright. I've got my parents here with me until they let them go home. My dad's been able to get an extra bed here so my mom isn't stuck on an air mattress. Lots of good things happening up here for my parents. Lots of people from NOLA area here.

Hope you get to hear from the in-laws soon. I can't do much, but if you need anything let us know. We'll do what we can for you.
