The amount of cat hair that came out of my mouse is unbelievable. I will NOT be getting any more cats for the next ten to fifteen years. What I lose to attrition will NOT be replaced. Four cats is two cats too many.

Your mouse has a ball?

Just been a while for me on that one, I tend to have a couple of extra opticals laying about.

Yes, my mouse is like Hitler in that it has only one ball.

Remember, I recycle older technology. I've got several elderly mice who aren't past service on the shelf. I've even got a serial mouse in the rodent cage.

I don't think I could cope with an uncastrated mouse now.

Besides, they don't usually make blind ones big enough to cope with my zonking great hands...

I actually have a couple of serial mice to. I just recycle differently. People tend to give me left over hardware since I'm a tech and they know I can usually find a good home for it, eaither use it myself or give it away. I then keep the ones I pick for myself and hand out the rest. I've actually passed a single video card through three people before and it is in my posession again. When I come up with something better I toss it in. If you're a personal friend and I work on your system chances are you'll have hardware upgrades by the time I'm done, as long as I have hardware to spare.

Random factoid

Last weekend, I was informed that in San Francisco it is illegal to have more than 3 of the same type of animal in your home unless you are a licensed breeder. Oh well, there go my crazy cat lady retirement plans. :)

Well, I would only have three (yeah, I said 'only') if I hadn't taken Nancy's cat. He's about seventeen years old so he'll probably be going to kitty heaven in a couple of years.

I had two already and Corpsman had one. Of course, we couldn't get rid of any when he moved in with me so now we have four. I am NOT a cat lady. I hope I'll never BE a cat lady. Two cats are enough for any household.

Two cats are actually plenty for me, but the same person who told me the fact about # of cats allowed in a SF household also said that unless you don't take care of them or they cause a nuisance to the neighbors the city won't bug you.

Humans are animals.

I would love to see them enforce THAT.

No, really, it would be great. I'm sure NOLAWitch agrees. ;-)

WOW! I'm ashamed that never crossed my dark, little mind. If municipalities that have these breeder licensing laws enforced them for humans, the world would be a better place. But how to make the licensing process more difficult than navigating the DMV? You know there are some licensed people driving who don't have the skills for it.

Im afraid I am the neighborhood cat lady. sad but true. Yes, kittens are often left at my doorstep like little orphans needing shelter...and I have in the past raised them, had them "fixed" and let them live out their life on my screened in porch..but unfortunately I must begin bringing them to shelters when they are abandoned as I cannot afford the surgery for them any longer..alas... but I always have said...."No time is totally wasted with a cat in your lap." and I believe it...really ..
