IFC is running "The Wicker Man" twice tonight. The first showing is seriously fucked up with that awful panelling thing that the cable box does on occasion. Great square and rectagonal chunks of picture disappear and then smear all over the place. Before the storm, we had the cable guy over to fix it. He put a booster on the line and it worked fine until tonight. Sucks ass. My current copy of that film is nearly twenty years old and is the cut version shown on a broadcast station back then. I wanted the 102 minute version from a good cable channel that wouldn't slam fuckloads of commercials in and slice out all the good stuff. Damnit, damnit, damnit!

If you've got IFC on your cable, it will replay at 12:30 tonight. I can't hope for the panelling to go away by then...well, I could, but it probably won't.

Great flick. Christopher Lee is splendid as usual. Edward Woodward gives a marvelous performance as well. I really like the story too, since our side doesn't take the fall.

We'll be fine. The weather has cooled off so whatever storm comes this way should be a lot weaker than the previous storms. I'd prefer that any additional storms stay out in the Atlantic or down in the Caribbean.
