Busy day.

Well on my way to completion of tasks. I've discovered that if I break a large task up into subtasks, it's easier to deal with and accomplish.

DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM PAINTING
tape baseboard, etc.
remove switch plates, dispenser bases, etc.
first coat
second coat
third coat
remove tape
replace switch plates, dispenser bases, etc.
clean sink, toilet, mirror
swiffer floor
rehang pictures, toilet paper, towel

CLEAN KITCHEN
clean & organize fridge & contents
make grocery list
clean range top
run burners & drip pans through dishwasher
clean countertops & sink
sweep & swiffer floor

DOWNSTAIRS
vacuum upholstered furniture
spray upholstered furniture with Febreze
vacuum ceiling fan
vacuum floor
dust wood furniture
burn incense

If I can get all that done today, I'll have a short list for tomorrow. I know. I'm boring.

EDIT: Bummer. I didn't get it all done. I'm worn out and need to watch a movie and rest.

Except the painting. Sounds familiar, somehow - Beth did that before I went to see her the first time, too! Is this a typical american ritual, or something :-)?

Vaccuming a ceiling fan? Wow. I only had one in Ste.Maxime, and dutifully climbed a chair on a table to take a towel to it every year. Good idea, vaccuming :-D!
Once more: Please don't think you need to do all that for my sake, ok?

It needed to get done anyway. The downstairs bathroom doesn't take much to paint. It's smallish. I'm not sure if it's a ritual, but I enjoy painting. As soon as the last coat dries, I'll put everything back to rights in there and you'll have a nice place to tend to bodily functions.

The vacuum cleaner I got is awesome. It's a commercial brand with an extra-long hose. I can vacuum anything up high and it beats the hell out of running a towel on it and having the dust come flying down towards my nose.

What sort of beverages do you like? We tend to drink a lot of lemonade and water. I can snag some sodas if you like. I'm going to the supermarkets tomorrow after I have coffee with ratcrycek who is in town with Americorps gutting houses.

Sounds like some serious machinery. And yeah, those things are a mess to clean...

I like water, period. Oh, and Coke "light". Not sure if that's your diet coke. With caffeine, but no sticky sugar :-). If you can find some sparkling water (soda?) that would be nice. Wasn't easy in NM... But I like plain water almost as much, no problem. The lemonade I'll give a try - if it isn't too sweet, I might like that, too. But usually, I can do without flavour, especially the "sticky" varieties ;-).

I have a list I should be attending to, but I'm being really lazy today. I'm counting this weekend as my "vacation" and I might get out and weed the flower bed, but that's pretty much it. (oh, and laundry.)
