This place is totally deranged. The drama alone is enough to make it unattractive. I've got an interview set up next week with some people I used to work with a while back. They're not without issues, but I'm familiar with their issues. The increasing drama here doesn't look like it will abate ever.

In other news, I talked to Vel on the phone last night. It was so good to hear her voice. She's being good and not running apeshit amuck cleaning. I might try running over there for a half an hour sometime in the next few days just for a hug.

Busy weekend ahead. Saturday, I'm going to help David, one of the guys in my writers' group, learn how to use his computer. Then hubby, my friend Joseph and possibly Pete and I are going to go see "Clerks II" (again for us and the first time for them). Sunday, I have a Daily Kos meetup to get a Drinking Liberally chapter started here in town. We're meeting at the Columns on St. Charles Avenue. Should be fun. Sometime amid all that activity, I have to transcribe all my handwritten work for my novel so that I can take Chapter 4 to the group Monday night.

Next week is good for interviews. Mercury goes direct again tomorrow. I'm thinking I will need a job soon, too. Especially if I'm going to buy a house.

Thank the Goddess! The shit hit the fan at work today. I don't care what happens tomorrow as long as it's not more shit hitting the fan. I'll take a nice, dull day of drudgery, thank you very much.

That house looks HUGE! Does it have zone heating/cooling? You're not gonna want to pay to climate control the whole place all the time. There are a buttload of nifty things you can do to create better energy efficiency. My mother-in-law tells me that her electric bill has been lower this summer because we put tint on all her windows last year a few weeks before the storm. My bills have been running fairly reasonably considering that every weekend for the past six months I've had three people, their computers and other electrical entertainments consuming from the grid. Every time I open the bill, I'm surprised it isn't higher. That's also considering that Entergy raised their rates.

Good luck with a new job. I'll be looking forward to working with known quantities again and within industry standards instead of having someone running things on the fly.

I love that house, unfortunately, the owner decided to accept the other offer that was on the table. So onward...
