Date: 2006-08-10 05:44 am (UTC)I just had to admit to myself that it wouldn't work. In my times, discalculy wasn't even on the horizon... So I quit school altogether at 14, having almost completed all other subjects, though (was a boarding school with a neat course system). I must say I had a lot of fun in the years to come, and only start missing that degree now, in old age, when looking for a job ;-).
Did you know that today, it is actually plain obvious what happens in brains like ours? We send the problem to a region that is not able to deal with it. Wrong hemisphere. You can watch it at (not) work, in shrieking colour ;-).
