Stupid nightmare last night. I dreamed I was with Vel and Gil and we were towing their FEMA trailer somewhere. Somehow, the tire went flat so we had to jack it up to change the tire. In the process of jacking the trailer up entirely too vigorously, it flipped over with us inside it. Dreams like that don't make any sense. I would never jack any vehicle up from the inside. The funny thing was that it looked more like part of their house than a trailer. [livejournal.com profile] hmc_lavadogs woke me up when I started to whimper pitifully.

That seems to be another in my long line of dreams about dwellings I only own while asleep. I've had some doozies over the years. Sometimes the dwellings were really nice houses with the tackiest furniture and color schemes. Sometimes they were jazzy apartments. Sometimes they were hovels in the woods. None of them really suited me and I still can't understand what the symbology is so that I can make them go away.

Monday was my writers' group, so I didn't get jack shit done that evening. Tuesday, I came home from work with a bombing headache. I thought it might be a migraine, but luckily it wasn't. I've been hearing the flyback noise from the monitor at work. I could have sworn I blew those audio circuits out at the last Metallica concert I attended. It must mean the monitor is getting ready to smoke or something, but it's driving me nuts and giving me a headache. I didn't get jack shit done last evening either. I had to sit down at the computer tonight and send out the PPD minutes. There were other issues I had to take care of as well. I'm so tired.

This weekend, I'll be over at [livejournal.com profile] goddessmusings and [livejournal.com profile] drgndancer's house for a while Saturday painting. Oddly enough, though that's a physically taxing activity, I find it pleasant to do. My mind doesn't have to do anything except deal with manual-spatial repetition and it's obvious if the area is covered. I don't have to do anything more cerebral than wisecrack or curse while trying to paint behind an awkwardly placed water heater. Though I won't get to see the results for very long since they're selling the place, there's a lot of satisfaction in being helpful. Besides, they'll take a buttload of pictures.

Sunday brings a new batch of students. Hooray! Let's hope nothing interferes with the continuity of the syllabus. I also hope that there will be more opportunities to do hands-on work. Lectures alone get to be fairly boring. I'm planning another wand-making and rune-making class or two. Those are always fun.

I'll be so glad when the second week of November rolls around so the excitement abates and I can get into a comfortable, boring groove again. Don't ever complain to the Goddess that your life is boring. She'll give you excitement and interesting times to live in.

about the dwelling dreams

I used to have some of those - some very intense ones (the first such that I noted on paper, at the insistence of my then spiritual teacher, was about everything inside the house coming back to life - like wooden beams turning back into trees and animal skin rugs turning back into the original animals and such).

Houses can be yourself - your body or your consciousness (or subconsciousness). So the dwellings could be where you are "living" in a psychic sense at the time of the dream.

The laundry room and guest room are finished. They look freakin awesome. We need to do the master bedroom, hall, living/dining rooms and the master bath trim. The rest will be all done by the professional! Yay!

Nightmares suck

I have them very often. I cannot remember them though. Sometimes I wake up or think I am awake and cannot move. I used to have night terrors as a teenager and young adult. That is freaky.

Anyway, I might try to jack up a vehicle from the inside if it was raining really hard or if it was hot and wanted to stay in the aircondition ;-)

I could see you trying to do that. You'd find some way to rationalize it too.

Amen to that last comment, babe. I stopped complaining, but Goddess keeps giving me interesting times!

My amature dream interpretation:

Upset - you're close to the people who's home your towing or see yourself as owning, they're place is an extension of your own. There is turmoil present in these locations, those the home is litterally turned upside down, affecting all inside. and/or It's also likely you don't see your current home as permanent, and you worry about where you are going. The upset may be caused by uncertainty. Considering you see your self in places you don't like, you're probably worried you wont find a place that is comfortable. Fix the upset and the dreams will go away. Being from New Orleans, I can see why home dreams would happen a lot. Upset homes are a given for anyone still in that area or who had to leave it. Even if you live in an area that was untouched the area around the home changed the feeling of home creating an upset.

That's my amature interpretation, I may be off the mark. One last thing, was it raining in the dream, or where you next to a Bayou, lake, or river?

No, it wasn't raining. I don't remember if the thing was next to water. The thing is, you're never too far from water anywhere around here. There are so many canals, the river and the lake. The largest distance I need to go from my place is five blocks to the canal.

There is a low level of anxiety permeating the region. Whether your place was intact or destroyed after the storm, you're still going to go around numb from the magnitude of the destruction. It's easy to look at it on film. It's hard to drive through neighborhoods and see gaping holes where homes used to be.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I was there not to long ago with my parents, four or so weeks ago I think.

The reason I asked about water is water in dreams generally represents strong emotions, of any type. Of course I've always wondered about the effects of water in a dream where there's supposed to be lots of water, like where you're at.
