I realize the election results are a belated birthday present for me and I've never been happier with such a gift in my life. You are so thoughtful and generous! You knew exactly what I wanted and got it in the right color: blue. I'll treasure the 110th Congress for a long time after the initial bloom of novelty fades. The best part is that there's enough for everybody and I'll share it with you. Thanks again, America. I'm so glad we're still friends.

We did pretty good. Our skanky mayor is still here, though. I have no clue what it's going to take to unseat him. But the town just north of us ousted their mayor-for-life, by 68 votes!

You are not the only one who's glad of the blue-shift in Congress (does that mean it's heading towards us at a extremely high velocity?) :-D

That Doppler reference was a delightfully geeky thing to say. Yes, I think they're finally heading towards us instead of away from us. Not only that, but they're also increasing in pitch. Woo hoo! We'll finally crescendo.
