A voice from my past called today.

I used to work with a great woman named Sheila in Los Angeles. We kept in touch after I moved to Phoenix and then here. She even came to visit once when I first moved here. Over the past decade, I hadn't heard from her much. She called this morning to say she had a long-term assignment working a project in town and wanted to know if I wanted to hang out with her. Not just yes, but hell yes. It was so good to hear her voice. I can't wait to see her. I wished her a happy birthday because that's in a couple of days, but I forgot to ask about her son and her crazy-assed sister. I suppose that leaves us a lot to talk about when she comes in next week. Wow! I'm excited.

Trixie's student is initiated. We had fun afterwards telling stories of initiations past. I had gone to the supermarket prior to initiation, which turned out to be this afternoon and not evening. I've cleaned up downstairs a bit and am waiting for Scott and Raquel to come over and hang out. I wish I had thought to grab some firewood while I was over at Vel's. I've got those logs that self-light and burn really evenly. It's kinda chilly tonight and a fire would be nice.

Community breakfast is tomorrow morning so I can't get drunk on my ass, but I intend to drink some beers and kick back this evening. I need to either get some writing done or work on editing the First Degree manual. First, a nice cup of hot tea while I get a fire going in the fireplace.

I'm happy for you. To me life seems as though it's a chain reaction of leaving and getting back with those you care for the most, always hoping to see them again before one of you dies.

Honestly, making this easier/more likely is one of myspaces few redeaming values.
