Two-year anniversary.
Aug. 28th, 2007 09:05 pmSaturday two years ago and then first Sunday post and second Sunday post. Two years. So much has transpired since then...as well as so little.
Rather than dwelling on that, wanna hear a story about how five paragraphs were worth $300? Gather 'round for the mattress story. We ordered the luxurious Simmons Beautyrest mattress on July 21st and arranged for delivery on August 7th. On the 6th, I called the store to make sure they had my work number to call before delivering the mattress the next day. Oops. No delivery. It wasn't on their truck from the factory that Tuesday's regular delivery. It should be in on the shipment arriving Friday the 10th and they'd deliver it on Saturday at no extra charge. Friday rolls around and it wasn't on their truck from the factory that day either. When it wasn't on the next Tuesday's truck, I was getting close to angry. While running end of day Wednesday, I Googled Simmons and sent them an email copying the local store. Five paragraphs telling the tale of woe topped off by the cherry of a challenge at the end for them to give me a reason not to cancel my order and buy a Serta or Sealy. I got a call the next day from one of the owners of the local store. He assured me he'd rectify the situation within a week and could he please take $300 off the price of the mattress? Oh, of course! I went up to Shreveport on Friday coming back on Monday and on Wednesday the 22nd, the mattress was delivered as promised. It's really nice.
In other news, another Republican cockstain gets outed as a closeted queer and denies he's gay. He must be Cleopatra, Queen of Denial. Idaho? No, you da ho, bitch!
