Pagan drama is over. Douchebag is in jail. Debriefing tonight with the rest of the elders at dinner.

Nancy has her thesis printed out on special acid-free paper and a copy burned to a CD. She and Corpsman watched two of the "Star Wars" movies last night while I taught class and printed her thesis on my laser printer.

I've got one Frankensystem built, tested and ready to go once I find a decent monitor to go with it. I've got another system that belongs to one of Nancy's friends that needs to be fixed. I'll put that on the test bench after I clean up this office a bit. The clutter is driving me nuts and I can't get to some things I need.

I've got to print the file slamlander sent me and review it sometime today.

*fires up XMMS and plays some tunes to work by*

Hmmm wondering what happened. Was someone an idiot to you or someone in your coven for being pagan or?

I'm unsure if I should say something to one of my neighbours. I don't want to get inbetween the two that don't like eachother and so far they are leaving us (new people) alone. But the one on the far end that's been quite friendly to me is blatantly freaked out by "witches." I told her I have no problem with witches though I don't personally practice witchcraft. I said I had no problem with religions in general as long as people didn't shove their views on me. Then I pointed out I've read up on wicca and other things. She left me alone about that and doing bi san for my daughter. But I'm tempted to say now to the other neigbour because I'm guessing there was some religious discrimination that I personally am not like that and I'm not going to be a jerk to them for their beliefs. I'm guessing some of the escalation of things before I moved in here and the person here and one other moved out was over religious intolerance and people getting fed up.(though some of it was at least one of the people that left had drug issues) Anyways I'm wondering if it would be bad to bring up religion and say somethign to the effect "I know someone here does take issue with wiccans but personally I don't and I'm friends with several pagans, atheists, and christians"

Speaking of frankensystems the one neighbour that has a thing about wiccans :( (I think just bad association with one bad wiccan so thinks most are like that) has sort of such a computer. I looked at it and it's a pentium hybrid board. Too bad I never kept any of my old defunct systems because they were better than that thing. The drive was literally falling out of it. She's got guts though at 50 wanting to learn. I gave her a spare nic I had because she didn't have one nor understand phone jacks are different...

I know what you mean on work areas. I need to clean my desk. It is somewhat bothering me but I've been too busy to do much.

Don't worry about your neighbor. Just be who you are. Don't deliberately bring anything up. Let conversations flow organically and drop in your tolerant two cents when appropriate. It's a damned shame so many are willing to generalize based on one encounter.

I've got to scrounge together another system after I fix Nancy's friend's system. One of the guys in my writers' group is using a typewriter. YIKES! I can't imagine how aggravated I'd be if I had to use a typewriter again.

:( That guy. Know what weirds me out? Remember that Great Right I mentioned where the High Priest pressured the priestess to do it non symbolically, etc? Well if I remember right his name was Phillip and at least one of those craft names is familiar he used. So if that's the same guy double thank the powers that be that he is off the streets.

Oddly I had a typewriter somewhere I think I forgot it at my prior roommates place. He had given an old brother typewriter to my son though it was the word processor type. Hmmm actually I have an antique portable around too and should have a full size as well though I can't remember where that one is. Corassable bond and corrective tape.. :P

Thanks for the advice. I'm just hoping the woman doesn't think because one neighour has this issue that all of us do. I don't think the freaked out neighbour even knows how many different types of witches there are either. But I'm leaving her alone on the topic. You see one of the ones that left didn't necisarily follow "harm none" and hit her in the head with a brick.(did alot of property damage and harassment too) I'm glad all that is gone before I moved into this place.

Wish I could say I never had to deal with that man...but crazy thing is back in 2003, there was a post in one of my newsgroups from Southern Miss by that guy. I had graduated from USM by then and was here in TN... When I saw your post about him....I was like, that name sounds familiar...

Here's what he posted...he originally posted this in his yahoo group...apparently someone in that group was also a member of the Student group I was in, which is how I saw it.

Please find a list of books below that I will be selling. I am selling these books at half of the prices listed to try and cover the losses I sustained when my home was robbed... I have to pay rent and it is late... and while my landlady is nice... she can't wait.

These books are in excellent condition, most have never had the spine cracked, with the exception of the Enochian book.... it's beat up, but I've taken that into the consideration when pricing it.

I hate this is happening, but everything has a reason.... and as I told one of our list members yesterday, I have to do something... I can't just sit still and lose everything... when things get like this and your money is gone pride is the first thing you need to set aside and do something to keep your home.

Here's the kicker...I actually bought three books from him. It took him almost three months to mail them. When I finally did get it there was the name "Aluriel" written on it. I knew something was fishy when he kept making excuses as to why he hadn't mailed them yet. Couldn't get to a post office. No car. A student had them..blah blah blah...Steve and I never really trusted this guy after all the rigamaroll we went through purchasing books. Just glad he got what he deserved.

(The address he gave me was 1133 Frenchmen Street....wonder what's/who's really there, especially if he'd been mooching off people there...)
