The pro-lie movement is at it again with a website proclaiming that the birth control pill kills. Yes, their goal has always been about controling women and I've been right for years telling you that they wouldn't stop at abortion, wanting to also ban birth control. Their hubris knows no bounds.

In an effort to counteract these morons, maxomai has created a place for our side of the argument to be heard. Please check out this website and provide your story. As soon as I finish posting this, I'm going to write my own for submission.

There is a very large body of evidence showing that the Pill actually reduces the risk of several forms of cancer - for example ovarian and womb cancers are down by around 50%*
These are very hard to detect and treat.

Compare this to the 'increased breast cancer risk' is incredibly tiny!
The rates of breast cancer by age 50 are:**
160/10000 - Never took the Pill.
181/10000 - Took the Pill for longer than 5 years.

So that's an increase in risk of 0.2 percentage points, or roughly 12% increase.

Compare this to alcohol consumption:**
The rates of breast cancer by age 80*** are:
11/100 - Teetotal
12/100 - 1 'unit' per day

Increase in risk of 1 percentage point, or roughly 9% increase.

Ergo, the Pill acts as an overall reduction in cancer risk.
