Well, THAT was a train wreck.
May. 20th, 2005 03:33 pmWho knew that fascist-leaning sphincter smoochers really suffer from coprophobia? They have a pathological fear of the commonly-used word for doody and other coarse language the way some of us have a revulsion for assaults on logic. For a complete, albeit transitive picture of the aforementioned train wreck, visit
ufieland and watch the poo being flung for yourself.
I'm delivering my sister-in-law's computer tomorrow. I'm probably helping her assemble the desk-in-a-box she bought at Wal-Mart too. I actually found everything I was looking for and hauled it downstairs to be crammed into the car in the morning. Now I can start working on another system to give to someone else.
I got a call from the guy from my writers' group who got the other Frankensystem earlier this week. He had finally connected everything, but he said it wouldn't turn on. I asked if he had any cords or cables left over. He had a power cord he hadn't hooked up. I told him that both the monitor and the computer needed to be plugged into the wall. He must be doing alright with it since he hasn't called me all day.
The smell of red beans wafts gently beneath my nostrils. I may get the office vacuumed before class tonight. It feels really good to be making progress of any kind.
Frank Gorshin really looked good on "CSI" last night. If he hadn't died recently, nobody could have told from that performance that he was even sick. All troupers know that the show must go on and he was in excellent form. I'll always have the fondest memories of him in those question marked green tights on "Batman" as the Riddler. I was fascinated by the defiant bulge at his crotch. The revealing aspect of the costume never seemed to bother him. He even may have subconsiously used it to his advantage while posturing as the archvillain. Rest in peace, Frank; there are scant few to carry on your legacy.
After the past few days of perusing others' journals, I'd like to ask those who peruse mine to let me know if there is anything about the look of it that I could improve. Some of the color schemes I've endured during the perusals are real retina killers. If my journal bothers your retinas in anything besides content, let me know and I'll try to find a more soothing look. Thanks so much.

Goddess forfend, eh?
Date: 2005-05-20 09:26 pm (UTC)and no, I don't find your color schemes uncomfortable, not a bit. I should probably investigate to learn how to do that, yes?

Date: 2005-05-20 10:27 pm (UTC)For altering look of your lj go to you user info page, click the nav bar and you'll find under part of it customize. Then when you go to there it should have styles. You can edit your style to one of your liking and also further edit it using a link on that page to change default color scheme. Basically a few clicks and your done. :)

Date: 2005-05-20 11:05 pm (UTC)Hell's Bells, it's just not the same without Naruki and Salegamine!
Oh, the User Info Page; of course that's where it would be. Thanks.. Hey, will you "friend" me so I can read what you have to say over in your Journal? Or is it more private than that?
Re: Goddess forfend, eh?
Date: 2005-05-20 11:54 pm (UTC)I found UF to be getting either people flame waring eachother(or maybe it was people getting offended easily I don't know) or getting stuck on a few small topics. It made me read a bit less but why I left was a difference over opinion on something with KS. Illiad knows why I'm not there. I still really like him and I do like KS as a person despite the difference of opinion.
These days I read friends here which are two different communities I guess for the most part. The UF crowd and those I know for disability or health reasons. I also can be found posting on soapbox which originally was run by Wil Wheaton but he was too busy and such so it went to it's own server run by volunteers. Similar atmosphere to UF I guess around 2001-2003. Only slightly different posting rules.
Hmm I just remembered I need to finish radiowaves logo too. I should go to UF to find his email address again and find toxins. I heard he's in town this weekend and wish he'd come over for coffee.(he and I actually share a mutual friend he knows as Papa Smurf and I know as Aaron of the Black mountains.. They were paramedics together.)

Date: 2005-05-20 11:47 pm (UTC)For now, I'm leaving my color schemes alone. Unless somebody has a huge problem with it, I think it's fairly neutral enough. As my Good Witch of the North friend points out, most people read them in their own friends pages and presumably they have those set to their own optimal comfort.

Date: 2005-05-20 10:07 pm (UTC)I read you in my friends page too.
Date: 2005-05-20 11:57 pm (UTC)One other thing that somehow disconcerts me are those flashing animated avatars. Some of them are fine; they don't zip by at seizure-inducing speeds. Some of them are worse than anime on methamphetamines. I need a drink to steady my nerves after too many of them.
Re: I read you in my friends page too.
Date: 2005-05-21 12:13 am (UTC)I agree on the grammer as well. While I do have my language issues I make some effort with punctuation and spell best I can. I don't write all in caps or lower case. Also I tend to avoid the "valley girl" type talk or leet speak. Both get on my nerves when I see them in any excess. I may briefly try one as a joke but as you've seen that's not often I attempt to speak in those languages.
BTW a few people on my list aren't ufies. I know them for other reasons. I think the odd one you'd like though for their activism politically or otherwise. Aka you might find the odd one interesting. Literalgirl cracks me up and also is politically active for one. :)
Oh and if you see my new website it should be a reasonable compromise with peoples tastes look wise. It offers some features my old site didn't have. Such as ability of people to set their own themes to cruise the site in. I purposely avoided downloading themes I thought were overly bright or done by a colorblind person.(I'm also working on a few custom themes)
Re: I read you in my friends page too.
Date: 2005-05-21 01:01 am (UTC)I might go check out
I checked out your website the other day on its shakedown cruise. Very nice. It's decorative, but not rococco. It doesn't have any of those annoying blink tags. Whoever came up with blink tags deserves a Tabasco and ground glass enema.
Re: I read you in my friends page too.
Date: 2005-05-22 01:55 am (UTC)Just remember I did NOT choose any of these "design features" -- at least he let me have a manual start for the audio on the 'about' page (and that took an argument from me and 2 of the other band members to convince him).
