If you belong to organizations such as Operation Rescue (sic) or support so-called Crisis Pregnancy Centers or the Catholic Church, you are fanning the flames that incite people to murder doctors in church. Do you really think killing people in church is a good idea? If so, you are as much a terrorist as the Taliban and al Qaeda.

Before you protest, let me assure you that they don't think they're terrorists either. They think they're true believers and the ones on their deity's side as their deity is on their side. Just like you. When you use your vicious rhetoric, and that's what is is when you're calling doctors murderers and the women they serve whores and sluts, you are no better than the extremist Muslims who beat women who dare show their ankles.

If you perpetuate lies in the service of your religious ideology, you're no better than those frothing fundamentalists in the Middle East who call America the Great Satan and call for jihad against us. Your refusal to accept facts and science labels you as a dangerous extremist yourself. Contraception of any kind is not abortion, no matter how much you proclaim it is. Scientific studies have shown that abortion does not increase the chance of breast cancer. Fetuses do not feel pain or have any capacity for consciousness until well into the third trimester. All abortions are not obtained for purely selfish reasons by slutty women who refuse to use birth control. Even if they were, do you really want a child to suffer with a selfish slutty woman who doesn't want it as a mother? No, you really want to punish the woman for having sex.

That's what your issue boils down to. You don't care about the fetus; you want the horrible, sexual woman to be punished for having sex. In case you aren't aware of your place in time and space, this is the 21st century and this is the United States of America, a secular nation. Your Puritan hangups and false reading of scripture do not carry weight under the Constitution. Your religious tenets cannot be established into law. That's all they are, by the way. I have religious tenets that are contrary to yours. How about we agree to each of us abide by our own and leave each others' alone? If you can do that, you will no longer be a terrorist, but a peaceful practitioner of your religion.

Very truly yours,
NOLAWitch

This whole situation is even more sickening since the police recently found two more feral children (literally) in the metro area. If their parents had either adequate birth control or money for abortions, the kids wouldn't have so much to overcome being 4 and 5 years old and still unable to speak and in diapers living malnourished in filth.

THIS x1000. The hypocrisy of the bible-beating white-bread Christofascists never ceases to astound me.

I have something to add here:

When I got "saved" for the umpteenth time at age 18, some lady came by our youth group and said, "You can't be a Christian and pro-choice." Since non-Christians went to Hell, I got terrified and spent the next year and a half pretending to myself I was pro-life. ("When I was young and had no sense...")

A lot of Christians are terrorized into supporting these people by threats of hellfire. So, the organizations spewing this nonsense are terrorists in the most literal sense.

The Word: the terrorized

I have yet to hear the definitive quote from either Yahweh or Jesus that says a woman isn't supposed to have an abortion, or take birth control or other silly notions. What most of those people are believing is someone else's opinion of their deity. Why then do they believe it? Are they terrorized or bamboozled?

What if old Yahweh never expressed concern or interest in the fhe fruits of just anyone's womb. He was a picky one, having to get a virgin for himself. It's not like he didn't order the killing of plenty of infants, women and men himself. And even if you stretch all the credulity like taffy until it disappears in a sticky residue, that still only happens to be the shared belief formed from religious opinion into consensus and not one held by everyone in society. Oh well. Why can't they let it alone or go ahead and brag that they wouldn't have one themselves. They should not not try to deprive others of their personal volition unless they're ready to be aligned with the murderers and bombers, you know, the terrorists.

I get extremely upset at those who think/believe that their religion is the law of the land and we all must follow what they deem right/correct/proper/ whatever. I truly do not understand how any of that ilk can proclaim themselves patriotic Americans, followers of the country's constitution and laws so selectively. I just do not get how they do not see what you have stated in this blog, that their (so-called Christian) behaviour is little different from what we abhor in others.

I just do not understand how these zealots can so turn upsidedown the precepts for which so many have fought and died all the while thinking they are good americans.

Sometimes I just weep.
