Working again feels pretty good.

This is the second day and I'm getting the hang of the paperwork and such. I spent some time organizing all the brochures and booklets. I also filled in the blanks that don't change on a pile of the forms we use every day. Chances are I'll be there for two months. The woman I'm substituting for called in today and said she'd be out on sick leave for at least eight weeks if not longer. My resources should stretch further that way or as Pete says, allow me to go broke at a slower pace.

My employers don't mind if I work on my writing during down time. If the phones aren't ringing and the patient files are updated, I can sit quietly and write my stuff or edit stuff from my writers' group. That's a good thing. They don't begrudge me not watching the soap operas with them. I've got two weeks to get a story finished to take it to the next meeting. The others have been clamoring for one of my works in progress and I'm feeling guilty about not getting it done and giving it back to them.

No, they watch soap operas on breaks. I spent a bunch of down time today working on my story. It's close to done. I'll probably have it finished by the end of the week and be able to work on another piece of writing next week.

Just saw your honourable stand against DR and the likes from yesterdays board. Respect... Hope you can take it without getting as bitter as some of us :-).
I don't think anyone has a chance against such "convictions", myself - but I'm a whimp, so...

I'm as bitter as the next idealistic soul who sees her hopes for a bright and shining future dashed by the Neanderthals time and time again. I'm sick to death of the cabal of neocon twerps on UF bleating their tired jingoistic ravings and going unchallenged. If I had more time, I'd give them hell on a daily basis. DR66 is so in love with guns that it verges on an unhealthy mania. If he didn't have such a quasi-pornographic interest in guns, I wouldn't jump into the fray. He professes to be such a he-man and all but his bravado doesn't extend to defending the First Amendment with the same gusto as he trumpets the Second Amendment. I swear I don't have anything against guns and gun-owning by individuals who are responsible. He and his NRA pals don't want to compromise on any weapon for any reason. Yet, they don't seem to mind compromising other important parts of the Constitution.

You're right. As rigid as he claims us bleeding heart liberals to be on some issues, he's the same with his issues.

As always - I am simply delighted at your text here. I will never in my life be such a brilliant writer ;-). And everyone is accusing ME of putting too many elaborate adjectives, hehehe... Quasi-pornographic, yes. And I don't think he has a chance in hell to grasp the concept of that lessening his "he-manity"...
It's plain disgusting. I really have a very hard time to understand how heads can be twisted that far. And there IS a place for convictions. And there IS a right and wrong. Sue me.
