Autumn has been flirting with us and hinting at her arrival for weeks. Finally, the air is decidedly nippy when I grab the paper in the morning. I have no objection to a change in weather so long as it doesn't rain for a while longer. There are still untarped rooves out there and roofing crews working hard to make homes habitable again.

I'm going to call for a doctor appointment today. The sinuses continue to be a spigot and Corpsman got his stethoscope out to pronounce that I may have pneumonia. I don't feel rotten besides the coughing and the sinuses, but I may have snorted some nasties while roaming around. Can't hurt to get some antibiotics and feel better.

Ye flipping gods, I'm busy. Today I'm taking [livejournal.com profile] cligo to the airport. After that, I'm going to drop by Corpsman's sister and brother-in-law's house where his mother is staying. This evening I have the first writers' group meeting since before the storm. I'm looking forward to it. I have to review the work that was given to me for critique since it has been almost two months and I don't remember it well.

Pneumonia...?!

I cannot imagine that you are "not feeling rotten" with that, to be honest. But then, you might be one of these blessed people who can run high fevers without barely noticing...?
Yep, better see a doctor :-). Good luck!

I think my natural resistance was down. I'm generally repulsively healthy. The stress and changes of both location and season have me betwixt and between. I don't feel bad otherwise, but the sneezing, snot and hacking are just miserable.

Hopefully it is that - and you are not living in a dangerously poisoned environment....
Antibiotics are certainly worth a try.
Do you get homeopathic "globuli" over there? I always take my "Echinacea" during winters. It is supposed to be good for your immune system. I actually almost believe in it ;-).

The only one I know who's into homeopathics is moving back to Maine. We've got vitamin stores, although I don't know how many have opened back up. I could probably get some ecchinacea at the drug store. I might try it. It can't hurt.

Yeah - that it can't. That's how I got started. I am pretty sure it's one of these "placebo" effects. But hey - if it works...:-D?

so it hit you to? I nearly grabbed a jacket this morning. I decided to just drive to work with the heater on and the windows down half the time instead.

I wish you the best, hope it doesn't get the best of you.

You are sleeping with pillows behind your shoulders I hope. Sleeping propped up helps with pneumonia. I know this from having it a few times. :P Hot baths with epson salt and lavender sort of help the achyness you'll feel though. Usually with pneumonia you start to cough blood and green yucky stuff. :( Despite the yucky feeling they usually tell you trying to breathe deep helps.

I wonder how the other ufies are doing that are in the current storm path? I didn't know if nin man and labrat were safe this time or not.

So it does actually get cold where you are? Right now it's around 6C out. I forget what that is in F though.

[livejournal.com profile] nin_wife posted that they're having a lot of rain. They'll get a lot of rain and wind. I think lab_rat and shorty82 are fine since they're up in Pensacola.

It gets cold here. It's not as cold as up north where you are, but on occasion it gets below freezing and snows. Temperatures are probably down in the high 60s or low 70s F, but the difference between being in the 80s and 90s F the past few weeks is dramatic. I get cold easily anyway.

As soon as today is over, I'm going to stay in bed a few days. I've gotten a doctor appointment for 1:00 this afternoon. I'll snag my drugs on the way home from the airport, go to my writers' group and then crash for the rest of the week.

Pneumonia can really suck. When I was small I would get it often.

I am still thinking it is mold/allergen related. For the brief time I was salvaging my stuff I began to weeze like I did when I was a kidlet. (I have a vaporizer at my place in New Orleans if you want it...hahahahaha....)
Hope you feel better soon. I find that a fine scotch like Glen Fiddich(sp?)helps bronchial distress. Just be sure to drink it neat.
