Thank the Goddess! The shit hit the fan at work today. I don't care what happens tomorrow as long as it's not more shit hitting the fan. I'll take a nice, dull day of drudgery, thank you very much.
That house looks HUGE! Does it have zone heating/cooling? You're not gonna want to pay to climate control the whole place all the time. There are a buttload of nifty things you can do to create better energy efficiency. My mother-in-law tells me that her electric bill has been lower this summer because we put tint on all her windows last year a few weeks before the storm. My bills have been running fairly reasonably considering that every weekend for the past six months I've had three people, their computers and other electrical entertainments consuming from the grid. Every time I open the bill, I'm surprised it isn't higher. That's also considering that Entergy raised their rates.
Good luck with a new job. I'll be looking forward to working with known quantities again and within industry standards instead of having someone running things on the fly.
