I cried to my daddy on the telephone, how long now
'Til the clouds unroll and you come home, the line went
But the shadows still remain since your descent, your descent

I cried to my daddy on the telephone, how long now
'Til the clouds unroll and you come home, the line went
But the shadows still remain since your descent, your descent

The saints are coming, the saints are coming
I say no matter how I try, I realize there's no reply
The saints are coming, the saints are coming
I say no matter how I try, I realize there's no reply

A drowning sorry floods the deepest grief, how long now
Until the weather change condemns belief, how long now
When the night watchman lets in the thief, what's wrong now

The saints are coming, the saints are coming
I say no matter how I try, I realize there's no reply
The saints are coming, the saints are coming
I say no matter how I try, I realize there's no reply
I say no matter how I try, I realize there's no reply
I say no matter how I try, I realize there's no reply

There's always next year. Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Maybe you might feel better.

They honestly had the best season of any Saints season since the beginning. Considering that this year was basically a rebuilding year, they will be unstoppable next year with experience under their belts. Look at the incredible work of all those rookies! Next year, they'll dazzle the living shit out of everyone.

It was a great run this season, even though they were stopped just short. But of all the teams to stop them... I hate the Bears.

Anyway, like you I think next season they'll be extremely tough to follow. I'm looking forward to Drew Brees getting better and better, Reggie Bush and Marquez Colston burning up the field and the whole team pulling even more together, becoming real fearsome. I believe Sean Payton to be a really good catch for head coach.

BTW, I've got a stupid large hi-def video of the U2/Green Day live performance at the first Superdome game. I'd be happy to put it on a DVD disc and ship it to you. If you're interested, just gve a holler.

OH HELL YES! I rewatch the dinky version on YouTube so often just for a proverbial shot in the arm. Send me a Gmail, same nick as here, and I'll give you my address. Thanks so much!

I hope everything resolved itself with your twerpy friend.

E-mail away.

Not really resolved, but I've learned a lesson, and said person will learn one too. Feeling better now.

Wow, upon rereading my comment, it comes across as totally bitchy. I didn't mean that. Sorry!

I didn't read it as bitchy at all. I took quite a bit of positive thinking from it. Of course, if you ask [livejournal.com profile] lab_rattus, she'll say I'm Pollyanna. She's wrong, but let her think that anyway.

I was kinda rooting for them too...

Here in LA we've been football-less for so long we're pretty much jaded about the NFL. I was hoping the Saints would be the Cinderella at the Big Dance, but alas, not to be.

They made a good geaux of it, anyway. Next season fo' sho'.

Well, at least the Bears made it. Oh. Eh. Erm. Heh. ;)

I was hoping either Lovie Smith or Tony Dungy made it... now we're assured that the first African-American coach will take the Lombardi home.

Prompting the first Super Bowl-inspired race riot as every ethnicity possible tries to claim a piece of Dungy. Leaving the ultimate sports multi-culturalist, Tiger Woods, to arbitrate a non-answer.
