I guess this is why editors get paid the big bucks. I'm cutting, but chapters aren't getting smaller because I'm also explaining stuff that critiquers have said was vague. I can't win.

Yesterday was super productive. I hope I get as much done today as yesterday. The windows are all open and the cool breeze is glorious. I feel like doing battle with the forces of chaos in the home office. Now that the local recycling company will accept e-waste, I can go through all the computer stuff and put stuff that doesn't work into a bin for next month's drop-off day.

wouldn't "e-waste" be electronic files? you only need a magnet to recycle those... (or are you talking CD/DVDs?)

No, e-waste consists of electronics that can't be dumped into landfills for all the toxic crap it's made out of, such as failed circuit boards, dead hard drives and monitors that had their magic smoke escape.

Now I'm not sure if the media was bad of if the burner was starting to fail. Gotta replace the burner and see if any of the ones left on the spindle are good.

Maybe. If I can't find my old hoard, for sure. Otherwise, I probably have enough to make scale-mail armor out of them (That's my Big Secret Plan, LOL).
